The required machine is meant to slit the steel cord breaker. The logical operation will be controlled by PLC logic. AC Motor of 2.2kW rating, which will have variable speed, will do the rotation of Cutter.
Operation
After threading the steel breaker onto the omni roller conveyor and thru the self centering mechanism, the breaker is feeded in between the cutters. The drive mechanism of cutter pulls the breaker from the feeding loop, which is controlled by 3nos photocell logic. The cutters tend to pull the breaker and drop it into the filling loop.
When the slitting is to be done, pneumatic cylinder is actuated to pressurize both the cutters, to slit the breaker into two.
Cutter assemblies are mounted on linear bearing slides to vary the slit widths as per requirements.
Air Pressure regulators are there to set the cutter pressure as per breaker slitting requirement.
Elesa measuring counter is there to set the desired slit width.
